Also, most of the Skyrim mods that you are referring to were either creating a strong script-based framework that would utilize the SKSE's ability to find out things like what type of armor is that actor wearing, what sex are they, what actors are in their line of sight, what is their health, what is their stamina, what are their max health and max stamina, etc., using such a framework (and so dependant upon SKSE by extension), using enough memory that the memory patch included in SKSE was imperative, or relying on SkyUI or the MCM (which require the SKSE).
